Comments |
Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): PstI--2.8, 0.84; EcoRI--3.85; HindIII--3.85. KC is one of several competence genes (including JB, JE) that are induced with the addition of platelet-derived growth factor. It is frequently used as a molecular marker for response to cellular growth factors. Detects a mRNA of 1.2 kb after PDGF induction. The level of induction is increased by cycloheximide treatment. |
